When does an agency relationship automatically terminate?

An agency relationship automatically terminates upon the death of either the agent or the principal. This is because the authority granted in an agency relationship is inherently personal. When one of the parties involved dies, the legal capacity to engage in the agency relationship ceases for that party, resulting in the automatic termination of the agency. The nature of the agreement is such that it relies heavily on the continued existence of the parties involved, and death obliterates that capacity.

While other circumstances can lead to termination, they require action from the parties involved or specific conditions.
